The Legends and Clean Colon Myths

A full colon cleanse program undertaken over the course of several days will be far more effective than a simple one day application. One day programs are simply not that effective. A complete colon cleansing program must take place over a period of days. One day programs are really a clean colon myth. In a thorough colon cleanse you may lose as much as five to ten pounds. Research will show that many celebrated people have accumulated waste in their bowels that far surpasses these weight levels. Even though a bowel detoxification is not considered a weight loss program, the end result could be exactly that.

The Body and Natural Colon Cleansing
One colon clean myth that you will be presented with often is that a simple single application of a given product will cleanse your body of years of accumulated waste. In truth, proper bowel maintenance requires balanced food intake that incorporates fibre that serves to scour and push out pockets and creases of waste buildup. Many natural and common foods do in fact bear these qualities and routine diets commonly satisfy these needs. Many of the cereals and breads we consume serve this purpose quite well. For some people these food sources may be the only target foods to maintain a healthy digestive system.

It seems another common colon clean myth is that the body is unable to cleanse the colon area without some external intervention by us. We are often told that we need to use pills and special juices as well as teas and even oils to achieve colon cleansing. Many of these claims are made without any research what so ever and simply make great sales promotional material. In actual fact the body constantly strives to detoxify our bodies daily. This cleansing or detoxification occurs regularly in the liver, kidneys, lungs, through our skin and within our intestines. Our body is in a constant cycle of cleansing although we are not aware of that fact.

That is not to say we should not provide assistance to maximize the natural processes of our body though. We should always try to incorporate good diet practices that include drinking about two liters of water on a daily basis, consuming fruits and vegetables daily and routine intake of high fibre foods. You will also benefit from healthier skin and an overall feeling of better health. These are heavily researched and proven principles and not a colon clean myth.

The colon clean myths have existed for hundreds of years. The old snake oil salesmen carried products that were touted as cures for everything from impure bowels  to liver and kidney detoxification. In fact many of these mythical cures were simply alcohol based products. Granny and grandpa could consume quantities of the potions under the guise that they were for medicinal purposes only. This made for great sales but in fact was just an early clean colon myth.

Yes there are many good products that will assist you in clearing the bowels of excess accumulations of waste material. They simply accomplish what a good diet and natural body processes can manage when given the opportunity and natural raw materials. This is not a clean colon myth!
